One of the biggest resolutions that people make at the start of
a brand-new year is to get into better shape.
Hitting the gym and going on a diet might be the
most common resolutions, but they aren’t necessarily the easiest to carry
through with. In fact, according to Statistic Brain Research Institute, only 8
percent of people are “successful in achieving their resolution.”
The muffin top is the excess weight that hangs over
the waist of your jeans. It can feel so embarrassing, but the New Year is the
perfect time to finally make it disappear!
These exercises — coupled with some healthier eating
choices — really can make a difference, just like with these exercises to fight
a double chin.
1.
The High Plank
Lay on the floor in a push-up position.
2.
The Lunge Reach
Stand with your feet, hip width apart,
knees slightly bent, arms on the sides. Lunge forward, reach your hands
overhead. Push off with your forward leg, returning to a standing position.
Repeat 16 times, alternating legs.
3.
Hands-Up Hop
Same position as the lunge reach, step
forward with your left foot, raising your right knee. Hop straight up on your
left leg, extending your arms overhead. Land with your feet together, hands on
your hips. Repeat 20 times, alternating sides.
4.
The Squat Jump
Stand with your feet, shoulder width
apart, knees slightly bent, hands by your sides. Squat then jump straight up
lifting your arms overhead. Land in a squat, lowering your arms by your sides.
Repeat this exercise 12 times.
5.
The Lunge Jump
Stand in a lunge position with your arms
overhead. Jump straight up, switching your legs in mid-air. Land in an opposite
lunge. Repeat the exercise 12 times for each side.
